Welcome to the Christian Education Program of
the United Church of Christ, Congregational, in Burlington, MA
where we believe that Christian Education is for and by everyone
in the church!

All families attend worship together for the first 15 minutes of the service.
After the "Children's Sermon" children ages 3 through 8th grade go to
their church school class.  We are currently using Seasons of the Spirit curriculum
with classes grouped as such:  Pre-K through 1st grade, 2nd & 3rd grades,
     4th & 5th grades and 6th thru 8th grades.

We have three teachers per class with a rotation of 1 teaching, 1 assisting,
and 1 off.  This allows for consistency as well as allowing our teachers to
     participate in worship.

Our nursery care is for infants and toddlers through age 3.  We have one
consistent caregiver who is assisted by another volunteer.

Confirmation is offered to our 9th graders or older high school students who
haven't had the opportunity to be confirmed.  Occasionally we will
combined 8th and 9th grades if there are less than 3 students in the 8th
grade.  Confirmation is a 1 year program consisting of class work, worship
     participation and mission service.

Adult Education is offered on Thursday evenings and Friday mornings
is led by Rev. Derick.  During the year a book of the Bible, topic of interst or
book will be discussed.

Family worship is held on World Communion Sunday, Christmas and Easter
     and on other special occasions.

At the beginning each church school year, we offer the following special
classes:   "Taste the Bread, Touch the Water" (communion and baptism) for
2nd graders, "The Lord's Prayer" for 1st graders, "Learning to  Use My
Bible" for 3rd graders who received their 1st Bible the previous June,
"Hey God, Let's Talk" (prayer) for 4th graders,
"Church Seasons" for 5th graders.
